com staff JUNCTIN CITY re. — A fire swept through dry grass south of Junction City Tuesday evening threatening homes and disrupting traffic on Highways 36 and 99. Photographers captured the scene and shared their images with KVAL News. Photographer Kyle Krenik sent in these photographs of the fire and the firefighters who stepped between the flames and nearby homes.

The district held its new teacher mixer Tuesday morning and nine new additions showed up bright and early at the Superintendent’s Building to mingle. Jim Keller superintendent is also a new face at the district. The first new face that walked through the doors at around 8:45 a. Tuesday was Julie Finneran.
