ver 170 boats competed in the four-day-long regatta each vying for the overall title as well as individual fleet trophies. After taking first place in the Sonar class — the largest fleet in the regatta with 25 boats — Marblehead native Sam Altreuter was named the overall winner of the Marblehead ND Regatta. Altreuter and his boat Resonance finished the series with 12 points edging fellow Marblehead residents Bill Lynn and Rick Meyers who rounded out the top three sailors in the Sonar fleet respectively. As the overall winner in Marblehead Altreuter is invited to participate in the ND Regatta Championships in the British Virgin Islands in November to compete aboard Sunsail 39s against the overall winners from each stop in the nine-event ND regatta series.

The contestants were judged in evening country-casual and swim attire and were interviewed onstage. VanBuren who has competed in pageants since adolescence said she was first runner-up in last year’s Miss Livingston competition.

GREENTWN ? Country music artist and Kokomo native Paul Stout entertained dozens Thursday at the 2009 opening of ?Music at the Fountain. ??The event gets more popular ever year and it?s a laidback atmosphere with a lot of variety? said committee chairperson Jolene Role. Stout sang original country songs as well as familiar songs from other artists. Some of the original songs he sang were ?I Found Jesus on MySpace? and ?ne More Time. ?He released his first country music single in 2008.
