“In another venue there wouldn’t be this problem” she said. Guild members agreed. (2 of 2)Day said the guild wouldn’t have even thought about removing some of the pieces if the show were held at a gallery or specific guild event. At the library though she said the group felt there could be concerns. “There’s full frontal nudity involved” Day said. She said the pieces are located right by where children go in and out for special programs. VanBuren will advance to the Miss Michigan pageant this fall in Port Huron which feeds into Donald Trump’s Miss USA competition. “I didn’t expect it” VanBuren said. “I am very relieved and excited and nervous all at the same time. “VanBuren competed against five other women in the pageant. The contestants were judged in evening country-casual and swim attire and were interviewed onstage.

Salem Gazette
Crowds of people swarmed the Salem Common last Saturday and Sunday to partake in an international smorgasbord of music dance food artisans’ sales and more. In addition to Witch City residents many guests traveled from around the state and appropriately enough the festival also attracted people visiting the North Shore from locales as varied as Pennsylvania and Egypt. CultureFest is now in its fourth year. The event is aimed not only at promoting unity and cultural exchange but raising money for host organization A3D.
