“I want to try to save kids for them with my voice. “Minock’s speech coincided with a mock crash presentation to warn teens about the dangers of drunken driving. The mock vehicle accident which included student actors and members of area emergency agencies was modeled after the June 1978 crash at D-19 and Coon Lake Road near Howell that killed Minock’s two friends Lasse Kauserud and Gary Mitchell. Minock was the driver and only survivor of that head-on crash with a newspaper truck.
