12: Deputy Commanding fficer of the CHF-Afg Major Rodger Lerminiaux and Capt. Melissa Snook pose for a photo at the Edmonton Garrison. Lerminiaux and Snook were part of the 408 “Goose” Tactical Helicopter Squadron that returned from Afghanistan last week. Their five-month tour was the first Canadian helicopter squadron deployment in Afghanistan. The squadron operated eight CH-146 Griffon and six CH-147 Chinnok helicopters during their deployment.

“My sons are both involved in hockey. You talk to people at hockey games and you’re always like ‘I work at Datapak’ and it’s ‘Is that that place off (Interstate 96)? What is it that you guys do?’ ” said Jeff McMann director of new business development at Datapak. “You see Datapak every single day. Basically we’re involved with pretty much every infomercial you see on TV” he added.

CMRescue workers toiled yesterday to recover the body of a man trapped under tons of steel and concrete rubble at the old Hawaiian Cement plant at Campbell Industrial Park. The victim a demolition worker from California had been working on weakening the plant’s old 120-foot-tall cooling tower prior to knocking it down when it collapsed prematurely.
