The Bulldogs outscored the Eagles 17-4 in the second period and never looked back. As it has been the past two seasons the key was the Bulldogs’ depth which runs as deep as 10 players. “ur depth gets into teams and it’s usually midway through the first quarter when it starts to hit” Piepho said. “I thought the girls made some adjustments took away their penetration (on offense) and our defense really spurred our offense.

Many members of the audience had once spent time in her classroom. “What really touches my heart is that I have taught almost everyone in this room” said Strickland-Salares who teaches second grade ESE students at Hutchinson Beach Elementary School. “I know of 20 inclusion second graders that already think they have won “Dancing with the Stars” and “American Idol” because of all the attention they have already received this year. An educator for 40 years Strickland-Salares launched her career teaching young students how to read.
