)Her team’s study of the squirrels appeared in the November issue of the journal Animal Behaviour. Eau de RattlesnakeRattlers and other snakes usually prey on baby squirrels because the adults have proteins in their blood that make them immune to snake venom. Pups on the other hand aren’t big enough to resist the poison. Clucas and colleagues therefore think that adult female and juvenile squirrels spend more time applying snake scent to their bodies. “Adult females actively protect their pups … and share their burrows with juveniles” Clucas said.

Design experts yesterday said the PM’s new official government website should have a contemporary feel to appeal to young people but not be so trendy that it turned off everyone else. John Howard’s website featured information on the PM official announcements and links to government information. A photo of Mr Howard in front of an Australian flag was posted on the home page and there was a photo gallery of his family. Andrew Dyduck managing director of Kinetic Design said now that Mr Rudd was Prime Minister he needed a serious-looking website with a contemporary feel. He said it should include elements from the Kevin07 site such as videos and pictures of Mr Rudd out and about. "I think he should run with what worked for him at the election" he said. The Liberal Party’s website is trapped in the past with a photo of John Howard with the headline "Thank you" and policy material from the election.
