Nokia N95 8GB Live Photo Gallery
Mobile Burn – Aug 30, 2007
I had a little time to experience the device at the launch event called Go Play. Nokia has given the N95 8GB a sexy new semi-gloss black color scheme that adds a touch of class to the look. Cosmetic changes extend to other places as well with the menu and multimedia keys being significantly thinner than on the original though not so much as to make them hard to press. The upside of this is that the two softkeys are a little fatter and thankfully the d-pad itself is no smaller.
A Camera for Generation Z
New York Times – Aug 30, 2007
) Think of the time you captured some amazing event with your crummy little point-and-shoot camera while the guy next to you took a much better shot with his expensive pro camera. Most people cannot share photos on the spot. Some people scribble down (and later lose) an e-mail address or use a Web photo gallery as an intermediary. It would be so much better if you could just share a photo with someone else’s camera right now in person and cross that to-do item off your list. Reach for the Z10fd. It is one of several current Fujifilm cameras with an inconspicuous infrared lens on the side. You can hold such cameras up to eight inches apart lenses facing… There’s no image stabilizer on this camera which is a huge omission; even the least tremulous hands can cause blur during the longer exposures. The camera is also painfully slow shutter lag anyone? especially when the flash is involved. And there’s no eyepiece viewfinder; you must use the back-panel screen to compose your shots. The screen is still mostly legible in direct sunlight and losing the optical viewfinder is certainly typical in tiny cams these days. But sometimes especially at night you need to peer through the eyepiece to see what you’re shooting.
