Some of the images on display include the work of established artists such as Peter Miller whose black and white portraits of Vermonters became familiar through his book “Vermont People”; Richard Brown who makes luminous color photographs of the New England landscape; Victoria Blewer known for her hand-colored prints; Steve Goodman who creates “painterly textured scenics”; Josh Axelrod a photographer and woodworker who “makes beautiful frames for his large pieces”; Stuart Hall Snowflake Bentley’s heir who photographs individual snowflakes; and Tom Way who makes classic black and white images of Vermont. “We’re looking for each of the photographers to have their own style” Churchman said. The Brickhouse Studios Gallery also shows the work of new photographers. “We wanted to be a place where image-makers could come together and we would be a resource for them” Churchman said. The gallery does archival printing for other photographers and helps emerging artists present their work more effectively and develop their portfolios.
