nationalgeographic. These two lesser slow lorises a type of monkey were discovered in a man’s underwear at the Los Angeles Airport in 2002. And when authorities opened the man’s luggage they were greeted by birds of paradise. The slow loris a nocturnal primate that resides in the treetop canopies of South Asian rain forests is often trapped and sold as a pet. The United Nations banned all international traffic of the animals along with several other species at the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species last month.

Karen Knowles watched a great-crested flycatcher behaving in a strange fashion on her deck with wings and tail flat beak up and open. It snapped at any passing insect or flew up to catch one. Was it sunbathing or lying in ambush deliberately?The orphan robins that I raised used to spread eagle themselves in the flowerbeds luxuriating in the sun that warmed them and strengthened their feathers. The first time they did it I thought they were dying!Eddy Brake inspected his second martin house and was delighted to find three nests with 11 healthy feathered chicks… The birds use the fluff to line their beautiful nests and the seeds to feed the nestlings. Gary Fairhead as a picture of a handsome yellow and black male as well as several of a juvenile yellow warbler pale yellow with an eye ring. Sharon ‘Rourke saw a pair of orioles and an indigo bunting in Greely a green heron in Sunset Lakes. Heather Pickard visited Bate Island and found a juvenile ring-billed gull. There was a solitary herring gull resting among a small flock of ringbills hooded and common mergansers. Mimi Bercier in Russell has a song sparrow with a third brood in the same nest.
